Rie is a graphic and web designer from Awaji Island and the Representative Director of Clickmark. She worked in international sales in Kobe before moving to the UK in 2010, where she gained experience in manufacturing marketing.

After returning to Japan in 2014, she and Ryan established Kreativ on Awaji Island in 2015. The studio combined design and development and became the foundation for Clickmark Co., Ltd., incorporated in August 2019. Rie continues to work hands-on across web design, branding, graphic design, print, photography and video while leading the company.

Her approach begins with listening: understanding a client’s background, audience and ambitions, then shaping a clear and distinctive visual language. Her experience in Japan and the UK informs work that crosses languages and cultures. She is a member of Kobe Higashinada Rotary Club and previously held a leadership role within Minato Kobe Shusei Club.

Ryan is a web developer from North Yorkshire, UK, and Tech Lead at Clickmark. He studied Business Computing and has worked professionally in web development since 2010, contributing to corporate and ecommerce websites, database-driven platforms, search systems and bespoke web applications in the UK and Japan.

Ryan moved to Japan in 2014 and established Kreativ with Rie on Awaji Island in 2015 before the business became Clickmark Co., Ltd. Now based in Kobe, he oversees technical architecture, development, infrastructure, security, performance and the long-term operation of Clickmark’s digital projects.

His current technical work includes adopting Rust where performance, memory safety and long-term reliability are especially important, and using AI and LLM-assisted tools with professional engineering judgement and review across research, architecture, prototyping, testing, implementation and documentation. Ryan also serves on ACCJ Kansai’s Executive Committee and is Co-Chair of its Community Service, Member Relations and Young Professionals Committees.
